I would say that it does not really matter to me.
I do not think we have the right to tell you whether you should or should not.
However, if you have to ask here about whether or not you should take it, then my personal opinion would be maybe not.
You need to do your own soulsearching to see if you want to submit to the leadership of the organization and serve as a pastor there. Most importantly, you should hear from God if this is the direction you should go.
Our opinions, plans, and ideas are a moot point if this is not the will of God for your life.
Only you know these answers and only you can decide. I pray that you make the decision that is right for you and this local body of believers. May the Lord's will be done and you be fruitful in whatever decision you make
My opinion of the church to offer this to you is several fold:one love wrote:What is your opinion of the offer for me to pastor a COGOP?...

Thankfully we are in a different time when it is more accepted for a minister to cross denominational lines.

That is true, Paul.
However, in this case, I don't see that as a possibility based on my brother's beliefs and his expressions of those on the internet. I do believe that his pastoring a COGOP is putting the fox in charge of the chicken coop.
Or, perhaps COGOP would rather not have this particular congregation any longer and this is a back door approach to the left foot of fellowship.

Wow. That seems really paranoid to me.![]()
COGOP has become a pretty big tent group of late. We have WOF people, old-school pentecostals, hyper-holiness, emergent contemporaries, and a variety of other things. I don't think Kevin has any ulterior motive, myself.
