Amazing Race - 9

Postby Paully_44 » February 7th, 2006, 9:45 am

February 28th, the new season begins.

Amazing Race

Thankfully, CBS understood the flop of the "family edition" of last season and is heading back to their roots. I am looking forward to this season.
Let the wild rumpus start!

Good show tonight! This is going to be a good season to watch. All it took was one episode of the family edition to bore me to tears and this one had me hooked. A really good mix of personalities.

I loved it when Lisa, from the sister team, got so excited about not being last, she said "she was peeing in her pants, REALLY peeing in her pants" and Barry from the married 40 years team, whippped his head over to see if she really was peeing in her pants! #-o

I thought the same thing. I am glad they are back travelling the world. Not sure who I am pulling for yet, but it should be a good season.

I blogged about it as well...

One of my favorite shows is back on. Amazing Race. Man last season tanked! The Family Edition was boring. I watched and liked a few familes but all in all it was dull. The first episode last night was AWESOME!!!! It made me think of how bad last season was just from one show. They actually had a detour that looked hard. I usually can pick right off the bat which one I could breeze by on. Me and Doug joke that we would do great at it. We'd just be ticked at Jodi and Danny the whole time if we went with them. Me and Doug would rock at this show! Last night though.... I woulda been tempted to do the motorhead. WHOA! I don't know if I coulda done it?! :/ They definately stepped it up this season. I am hooked already...

Now for the teams breakdown...

Lake and Michelle- GYAH! He got on my nerves! What is up with the George Michael look? EW! I could picture him in white cut off jorts (jean shorts.. you just said duty. *snickers*) singing "Wake me up before you go go!" One of the other people called him Scott Peterson! That cracked me up! I could totally see that. :P Some of the best lines are the nicknames they make up for each other. Anyway... Lake is a ego freak. *in goofy guy voice* Lake like the sea. *in equally goofy guy voice* Ray like the sun. *rolling eyes* Where do they find these guys. And Lake kept saying "the black people" That was borderline offensive. GYAH! He also said "I am partially to blame for booking tickets over the phone." HELLO!? She was driving, he had the clue! *rolling eyes* Retard! As you can tell... me no likey.

Danielle and Dani- Why are they there? They are worried about make up and hair brushing. Double D's? Spare me! They wont last long.

BJ and Tyler- They are hilarious. True hippies. Someone even commented about them being able to breath so well in Colorado because of pot consumption! LOL! Probably true! They are one of my favs. I can't wait to see more clothes! :P Future Goodman's! ;)

Ray and Yolanda- They did good together. Man! Did you see her thighs? :O If I was Ray I would a been ticked at the locals eyeing her! Be a man Ray! Oh wait... It's Ray, like the Sun. *rolling eyes*

John and Scott- Can we say flamin? They were annoying. Scott said that he loved John like a brother and nothing else. Uh... don't they know, we can see them out of the colset whether they admit it or not? Gross. It just ain't natural to act like that. I am glad they are gone. :P

David and Lori- Total dorks. They were goofy, entertaining, and good. I like them but if everyone ran the race like them, then this show would bite! :/

Eric and Jeremy- I am not sure about these guys yet. They have pig potential. I am undecided. They give the double d's there nickname. The double d's dissed them and seemed to like the hippies better. HAHA! That was great. They say they want a million and don't want to have to work. They are bums and they like it. They only work to get by. They came in first and won 10,000.00 each. How bad does that tank? People who don't want to work get rewarded! Life is unfair. :P

Fran and Barry- The first old couple I think has a chance to do good. Actually change that to thought. I thought they would do good until they walked byt he clue box a hundred times. If Danny wasn't asleep I think I woulda been yelling at the TV. sheesh!! Get some glasses. :P 8)

Lisa and Joni- I liked them from the start. They are real and don't care what anyone thinks. One of them pee'd in her pants fo real! I was dying!!! Hilarious! :P They were nicknamed the frosties (cause of the hair)! Glamazons! They are so BIG! She was cracking me up screaming at everything, especially the helicopters! Too funny! I don't think they will win but I will enjoy every minute they are on the show!

Joseph and Monica- MoJo... she was so fixing to cry! She was on edge the whole time. He was wallpaper. They weren't on air too much. *shrugs*

Wanda and Desiree- They are a team to watch out for. I think they are great together. They are good. Another one of my favs.

This is gonna be a great season!

This is the first time we have caught this from the beginning, Glad to see the ones go that went.

Liked the older couple, but then she started moaning about everything! that will get on my nerves. I'd like to see an older couple really have a chance, but she will have to keep a positive outlook.

Didn't care for Lake much, seemed like a jerk, especially with the "partially my fault comment, when it was clearly all his fault, but then his wife REALLY didn't have to keep pointing that out and riding him about it either. He did partially redeem himself when he took some time to help the older couple with the bike, The woman expected him to stick around and go through it step by step, he couldn't do that, but he did give them a quick overview that should have helped, be she spent most of the time moaning about why he wasn't staying longer

Good mix of personalities, some that I doubt will really make it, but will be fun while they are around! (hippies & frosties) and a couple couples who's relationships may not make it through (Lake/Michelle because he's too high strung, and She rides him over everything & Ray/Yolanda, because all they've had is a long distance relationship, and being this close for this long, under this stress isn't going to be easy on that!)

Good episode last night. I sure did hate to see the Glamazons/Frostys go, especially since the one lady cried so hard when they came in last. That was sad. And boy, would I be aggravated if my car broke down and they didn't give me any grace period because of it. I guess that's just bad luck, though. I am rooting for the nerdy couple, the mother/daughter team and the hippies at this point.

At first I was rooting some for the older couple, but she is plain whiny, and her logic really seems flawed. Last week it was "I'm good at puting things together, let's build a motorcycle even though we know nothing about it.

And this week, "Oh we don't know how to process sugar, we should climb the waterfall against all these people half our age"? Don't know what she is thinking, they'll probably be gone soon.

Nerds seem to be doing well, hippies, but I really want to see the mother daughter team make it.

I hated to see the Glamazon's go....but the one sister looked and acted defeated all day. So I knew they wouldn't make it. But have to give them props for getting as far as they did!! =D>

The hippies are great! I love them...they just enjoy themselves...and have fun! But, I believe looks are deceiving, I beleive we have very smart individuals on our hands who will out smart pretty much everyone on the race.

The nerds just make me happy to watch them! They were in their element making sugarcane into ethenol, weren't they?

Lake, he and Michelle drive me nuts. Him yelling at her to get up that waterfall the way he did and then he had trouble getting up himself! I laughed! He's just a moron!

I said before that the challenges look harder. I can usually pic easily what I would do. The detour last night didn't look bad... BUT the Road Block!! GOOD GRIEF!! That was insane? Anybody catch how many floors that was? I couldn't have done that. Whew!! Made me outta breath watching. I probably would have freaked like the Single D did. It was nice of Fran to comfort her.
