I have been doing that every day for years. (praying for the salvation of the leadership (and peoples) of America, and countries around the world.)

Sure... BUT use this quick analogy..

Statement: "Many in your house have a problem with consuming extreme amounts of Alcohol.

Question: Are you "the one" that isn't drinking? Are you immediately thrown in defensive? Or can you walk out of your house confident you are not looking or smelling like an alcoholic to your neighbors?

Exactly.

My point was that there are A LOT of christians in the U.S. and many or some of them would like to see some kind of harm come to the president. That is simply a fact. MANY never means ALL.

I DO NOT AGREE WITH HIM AT ALL BUT I SURE WOULD NEVER WANT ANYTHING TO HAPPEN TO THE MAN.

Dear Lord, don't let any harm come to Barack Obama. If he leaves office, Joe Biden's wet bar moves into the Oval Office, and if Biden can't, Nancy Pelosi moves her coffin over to the White House and starts sucking the blood of it's staff.
I fear the President's replacements more than him...
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

And my point is that it's irresponsible to single out one group [ Christians ] when making that brash personal viewpoint.

Honest thinking people would never believe...
• Most environmentalists would like to see harm come to President x.
• Most gays would like to see harm come to President x.
• Most animal rights advocates would like to see harm come to the President x. etc. etc.

and/or... MOST Christians would like to see any harm come to our President regardless of positions/policies held. Just flat wrong stinkin' thinkin'. It's a slippery slope that's completely fabricated (dipping into racial tones) based on crazy minority thinking in ANY class of Americans.

Beam me up Scotty!

I don't think it's so irresponsible, and I don't really think it's that brash. Fact is there are a lot of Christians that pray AGAINST the President and the stuff he does, rather than praying FOR him to find salvation. I've been appalled at a lot of stuff many religious people have wished upon our President.

EXACTLY RIGHT.

Mac "many or SOME" does not equate all. Nor does the other groups have anything to do with this. The point is that many or SOME Christians would rather harm come to him. Not sure why but it seems that if someone makes a statement that goes against your thought you jam a huge exageration down there throat. I APOLOGIZE if my statement came out wrong but that does not change the fact that EagerB WAS ASKING US TO PRAY FOR HIM, yet I am agreeing and stating that some would like to see harm come to him.

Are you really going to deny that fact that some that claim to be christians have not said such statements? This is not a attack on Christians at all. This is not defending Obama at all. My post is simply stating that if we prayed for him more verses "other tactics" that something good could ome out of this nation before it is destroyed.

Two separate points:

1) Irresponsible Allegations: Saying MOST Christians wish harm on the PRESIDENT is absolutely irresponsible. I propose that these views as are ANY deviant minority view are a tiny fraction of TRUE CHRISTIANS that represent Christ. Everything you both present is anecdotal.

2) Praying for Leaders: Desiring Obama to Fail in his political agenda ( Pro Abortion, Pro Gay, Pro Socialist Agendas ) DOESN'T surmount to wishing him PERSONAL BODILY HARM in any stretch of the imagination. We can easily pray for his Salvation / Mind / Body and yet pray that his agenda to support the systematic killing of the unborn be stopped.

Continue to die on the details and refuse to see the principles at play.

Now you're saying he said MOST, when he said MANY.

You want to argue words and semantics, go right ahead but One Love's point wasn't lost on me for one.

My point was that if we prayed for the salvation of our elected leadership, not only our President, and it came to pass -- our nation's entire agenda would change.

Not dying on details here, MacUser, I for one definitely see the principles at play -- which is why I even wrote this post in the first place.

Please execute a perfect facepalm and come back when you're done!

LOL.. so now you care about the meaning of words, eh?

Pure anecdotal and irresponsible.

Because he is right  I never said most. I said many do wish him harm.
If this fits better:

There are some christians that wish Obama harm.

And you can apply that across the board to ANY group.
There are some environmentalist that wish harm..
There are some gay activists that wish harm..
There are some animal rights activists that wish harm..

All of these are tiny narrow minded minorities that do not represent the whole.
