Sodoku???

Postby JohnDB » June 6th, 2009, 11:47 am

What is the deal with this puzzle game?

I see people staring at little pieces of paper with a bunch of boxes and numbers on them for hours and hours with that word put on the top...

I looked it up on Wikipedia and it said something about "rat bite fever"

do they need medical attention or what?

Do you have this malady of needing to do one of these puzzles?
I want to die like Grandpa, quietly and in his sleep; not like the passengers in his car, they were all panicking and screaming.

I really do enjoy it.

I enjoy them, especially while on a long international flight. Makes time pass by much better. But I do get frustrated sometimes. And have been known to look at the answer box from time to time.

Math

Postby Pastor Gary » June 6th, 2009, 12:39 pm

It is math. Might as well be hieroglyphics to me. Can't do them, and don't care to learn.

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

I don't do these. I like the cryptoquips.

It really isn't math. If it were, I wouldn't have a chance! If you can count you can do them. It's more logic than math.

Yeah, there's no math to it at all. It's just elimination and logic, and fill in the blank all kind of thrown together. The structure of the puzzle will often yield the answers, as a crossword puzzle does sometimes.

I used to be very good at them, and actually got bored with them and moved on. I found it odd because I could do those with ease and then not even be able to figure an inkling of a Rubik's cube.

I only solved the Rubik's Cube with the book.

A couple of guys in high school, one named Freddie Anderson in particular, could fly through that thing. We'd time him in P.E. He could do it in 1 minute, a few times just under that. I can't think of the Rubik's Cube without thinking of Freddie.

My daughter could do that too! It would take me forever. Does anyone remember that little flat, square toy that you moved the numbers/letters around to get them in order...I would play with this in church and was really good at it.

I love "search-a-word" and sometimes crosswords...but I haven't really gotten into the Sodoku...if I could understood it a little better, I might like it. My two little brain cells have to many things going on for that right now.

Yes, amen.
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?
