What is the most annoying line you've heard?

Postby Ilovebigcats » December 3rd, 2008, 7:36 am

I was reading through a post and didn't want to hijack. When I read certain phrases it always feels like a slap in the face and so condescending. I am very annoyed at the line...

We also trust God but use a little wisdom too.

It comes across as very judgmental. I have heard it so much that it makes me want to get offended. haha. I refrain. I feel sorry for the condescending people that use the line.

I know this will be moved to insert forum name here, but............
There never was a horse that couldn't be rode and there never was a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.

This phrase gets on my nerves..

I could care less!

Too many people say this.

They mean "I could NOT care less!!!" They can even shorten it to, "I couldn't care less!" That would be fine. :D

Wendy, as you know it was me that made that statement. I in no way meant it to be judgemental or condescending. I just meant God wants us to use wisdom, and I try to in the things I can. I am sorry I offended you, did not mean to offend anyone.

You didn't offend me. I refrained. 8)

However, the way people throw around the term using wisdom is all relative to the person using it. Something you may consider using wisdom may not be the same for me.

I have heard this argument over someone paying tithes instead of the electric bill. What one claims is wisdom may not be the same for another. So that statement is harsh when it is used in that context of saying someone isn't wise and it is also arrogant by saying that you are wise.

It is just an annoying statement to me.
