Evangelical leader critical of Palin choice

Postby Steve » September 1st, 2008, 7:28 pm

I found this interesting blog post concerning Gov. Palin. I respect Voddie Baucham very much, and his thoughts on this subject are interesting. Are we giddy because a good choice was made, or because we now think we will win?

Good food for thought.

Wow! Why I do not know all the details, and appreciate the positive, gracious approach Doctor Dobson used when confronting the sexual sin of the daughter of Govenor Palin ... I find great biblical soundness woven into the linked blog article.

My, how America has fallen! How widespread her leaven has become. It's persistent working even invades the churches, homes, and minds of those who should know better.

Help us Lord. Help me. We are so easily conformed to the status quo, and often do not renew our minds thoroughly enough. Be gracious to us, and work in us your will and understanding.

I have heard Voddie preach a few times at the baptist cemetery here in the Ville. While I like a lot of what he says. I really have to question his motivations on this one. To me it feels like a hit piece, trying to make others feel like they are hypocritical on the issue. Yet where is that same thoughts on Baptist (Black and otherwise) are willing to vote for obama in spite of the his stand of the murder of unborn children. I think we need to pull that log out of his eye before we start looking for splinters.

My Mom said the same thing that Voddie Baucham said. What kind of mother is Sarah Palin if she hasn't raised her children well? If her 17 year old is sleeping around then she's missed it with her family, in my Mom's opinion.

Your mom's opinion is wrong. If she was right, a lot of exceptional mothers have missed it. I've seen time after time good parents raising good children who make very bad decisions. That's nothing to blast the mother over - it's just political opportunism.

Well...I would stand in disagreement with your mom's opinion...

We live in a society that is very morally corrupt...everything from T.V. to Radio to Public school is focused on Sex and other immoral ideas and practices.

We can teach and example what is right to our children everyday all day...but at the end of the day...they are still exposed to a huge amount of moral corruption....and they have to choose between right and wrong for themselves....

A parents responsibility is to teach and train....but if a young adult like Palin's daughter still falls into this trap....was it the parent's fault or the daughter's choice...at her age I would say that it was the daughter's choice...

Unless you throw away your radio, throw out the T.V., burn all newspapers, don't ever go to a public store or mall, and basically live in a jungle locked away from our society...there is NO WAY to keep your kids from being exposed to the moral decay of this society...

If you've took them to church and taught them the truth...then they know how to choose and it's not our fault or Sarah Palin's if a daughter or son chooses to be sexually active or commit any other sin...

Under-judging the difficulty of a down's syndrome child is what what my Mom was talking about. The kid sleeping around, well, that was me and the Apostle Paul. Remember that part where he said that a deacon must have his family in order first? Oh, but I guess we don't apply that to politicians. After all, John McCain is a fornicator and an adulterer.

I don't know...but I've been told that you can't argue with ignorance
He or she totally ignored the part about "young adults" making their own decisions...

Not much ignorance here. In fact, the ignorance was in Sarah Palin who exposed her child to down's syndrome by giving birth after 40.

And for that matter. I've known enough down's syndrome children in my career and mother's brother, who was a down's child, to know that they are a huge energy consumer.

You guys are straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel, yet once again.
