Famous COGOP Connections

Found this tidbit interesting & think we may have done this before - but how about doing again a thread on people/events that at one time had a COGOP connection.

We know David Baroni did.
Karen Wheaton did.
I believe someone mentioned Elvis did.
For those folks that may know Lindell Cooley (former
music director from the Brownsville Revival) - his
mother & her brother attended COGOP in their childhood.
Famous (or infamous) Dewayne Hamby :)

It seems like I remember a few other musical mentions? How about
rehashing again?

Actually, I have read in an article that Yankee start closer, Mariano Rivera, is a COGOP member. I think he is connected to Naomi Gandia (sp) in some way.

I had a photo (somewhere) of Rivera with a non-game Yankees cap with COGOP embroidered on the back.

My Dad actually replaced John Payne that is how he met my Mom and then ended up in cleveland working at Head quarters and hosting voice of salvation. I was only a couple years old but we would watch him on TV at the grand ole opry. They sung at the assembly until well that is enough
