Prayers for my Mom

Postby Pastor Don » May 2nd, 2008, 6:23 pm

Many of the ones who were at the J2 gathering two years ago at the Assembly remember meeting my mom. I posted a couple of weeks ago about her being diagnoised with Leukemia.

She came home today on Hospice, she is struggling even as I write this message for the ability to breath. It seems as though her time is drawing to a close quickly. She is pleading for someone to help her breath, but her blood count is so low that she just doesn't have the cells to carry the oxygen.

I have been able to come to terms with her passing, but I am having a hard time watching her to appear to suffer. I know that God's grace is sufficient but my prayer is that He will be merciful and do quickly what He will do.

She is here in our home, where she wanted to be.

Thank you all for your prayers...To God be all glory and honor.
Blessings; DJ

I am sad to hear that the end of this earthly life is near for her, and I pray for God's mercy upon her and His grace upon you and your wife as you minister to your Mother during her final days here.

(Can't help but smile when I remember her, in that wheelchair, making the Jude2 Assembly gathering with all these crazy, wonderful people.)
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Pastor Don,

My family just went through this with my father-in-law (who passed in Feb.). He was having a real hard time with breathing and pain, so I felt impressed to tell him to start praising God and thanking Him for everything. He wasn't able to talk aloud, so I told him it was ok to say all these things to God in his mind, that God would here him. Just a few hours later while he slept, he passed to the other side to meet God face to face.

I know God can do the same for your mom and I will be praying that she is able to have a restful peace in the Lord. God Bless you and your family during this time.

Praying for your mom and you and Sandra. I remember watching my Mom on her last day. She had gone into a coma the Sunday before the Wednesday she passed. As her breathing started to change and I knew the end was near, I just spent those hours talking and singing with her. God is merciful toward His Children.

Love you guys,
Jinjer

Your mom is very sweet, take comfort in knowing she will be with the LORD when she passes over, and do not be overly sad in your heart.

Blessings and prayers,
