Does anyone know the dates and location of IYC for 2007. thanks


I know this is a double post with the Youth forum and I am sorry. I need to get my staff applications for camp done today and I want to put the IYC dates and location on there. Can anyone tell me. I have searched all over the COGOP site with no luck and I even looked on Camp Boothe website with no luck.

Hey Daryl, Not trying to sidetrack this thread but I saw that you were the Pastor in Pearl. My Parents were some of the first members of the Pearl COGOP and started with Brother Dean in his house there. I remember that the piano player backslid and Brother Dean asked if anyone wanted to play the piano. I was 7 or 8 years old and I told him I would like to play - He sat me on top of some books on the old piano bench and anointed my hands and I started playing and have been playing ever since. I helped Brother Dean build the first church there and carried bricks to help him.

Praise the Lord for the history and his blessing you in Pearl. Keep us in your prayers, the congregation is older and we are trying to get more young adults/youths coming and committed!

His daughter and granddaughter still attend. And, I am trying to find some pics for you I had one of the old tabernacle. My laptop harddrive crashed and I am afraid It was there but I am still looking.

You may remember a Paul Cook at the Vicksburg Church. He is missing is right hand. I am his son.

I am not kin to Claxton or Andrew but know them well.

Thanks for the info. I do not remember your family but I called my Mom and she does. She said they were "good people". She said she remembers you. They moved from Southaven back to Vicksburg and lived there for years but have bought a house back in Southaven and live there. They have a Motor Coach that they travel all over the US in. They attend a COG in Olive Branch, MS WOW - Times have changed!

I guess you would know my family then? Lovie & Jimmy Dale Bailey, Matt Cheney ??? & Mary Brown are my aunts.

Did you date Joy Anderson? She is my cousin on my mothers side.

Who were you related to in Holly Bluff? I remember going to church there a time or two. We moved from Greenville when I was 11 months old to Tallula,my mother got the District Overseer or her former pastor one to come to Tallula to get the church established ,then the Tallula church helped get the Cary church established,it is now the Rolling Fork COGOP,and that is where Brother Paul Cook is the pastor. I don't know him ,but I know Daryl because he use to pastor the Tallula church,although I had been gone from Tallula for years I was there a time or two for certain things. Daryl filled in for Brother Roger Browning at least one time at the Delta City church, the church at Delta City is no longer a church. Oh yes,times have changed,I now am a member of the Hollandale Church of God.

My Great Grandmother - Amanda (Mandy) Dedmon - raised her daughters in Spanish Fort - I think that is near Holly Bluff. My Grandmother (Bill Pugh and husband Earnest) moved to Vicksburg around 1950.
The last of my Great Grandmothers daughters just passed away in 2006 - Mable Screws. I would guess she was in her 90's.
My Dad & Mother - Kim & Mildred Pugh live in Southaven, MS and his brother Leonard (Bubba) pastors a COGOP (I think) and lives I think in Pascagoula. My aunts - Lovie (Jimmy) Bailey, Mary (Doug) Brown and Faye (Tommy) Jeffers still all live in Vicksburg and my Aunt Matt (Cheney ???) lives in Reno, NV.
My mother was from Redwood.
What ever happened to the COGOP in Spanish Fort?
I know that Mabel Screws was a member of THE Church of God with Doris Leist (another distant cousin) as Pastor in Vicksburg.

I think I may be heir to about a handful of dirt in a field in Spanish Fort.

daryl is my brother, and I know all those people too. We used to go to church with them.
