Postby dawgs10 » June 10th, 2010, 1:15 am

I know what the tea party folks are against. (any form of tax or regulation) that goes to things that are not needed such as medical care, roads, and schools. could someone tell me what they are for?

I don't believe they are against ANY tax just some.

What they are for is a people ran government....not a government ran people.

Response: Good answer. I would also say common sense.

Our government, not just Obama, has a hard time doing anything right. Can you imagine thousands of IRS agents handling Health Care?

Visit some of our VA hospitals.

What person can honestly say when faced with a budget deficit they respond "Let's spend more"??

It's out of control, out of touch and needs serious attention.

Bush wasn't much better on spending than the democrats however he did understand the dangers of Islamic radicals and terrorism.
What we need here is a good revival! lol

I am not a "tea partier", per se, (and honestly, I don't know exactly who is and is not unless someone identifies themselves that way, and it is pretty nebulous).

BUT, I'm a throwbacker. Let's throwback the power of the government. I'm for that. Let's throwback the power of the government to 1930 before Congress and the federal judiciary exploded the government through the interstate commerce clause. Let's throwback the police power to the individual states and get the federal government out of the business of controlling local policing with promises of large sums of money. Let's throwback the Social Security Act and the creation of Medicare and institute THE Fair Tax as explained and championed by Neal Boortz. Repeal Obamacare. Let's eliminate the payroll tax in its entirety, and the income tax. Let's restrict the exercise of eminent domain to where it can't be exercised for mere "economic benefit" or "economic growth" as in Kelo v City of New London. Let's throwback the business of public education to the states and get the federal government out of it by disallowing Congress to allocate or distribute funds to states for any educational purpose. Let's restrict Congress from providing any financial incentive to states or municipalities or any political subdivision of the United States in order to get those states/cities/counties, etc. to do what Congress wants. Let's institute term limits of two terms for life for any Senator and three terms for life for any Representative. Let's abolish all lobbyists from spending one dime on any benefit for anyone in any branch of government at any level. (Don't say it can't be done; they've darn near done it with drug reps and doctors, which is the same corruptive influence on medicine). Let's preserve the sanctity of marriage by getting the government (state and federal) out of the marriage business, making marriage the province of religious faith only and make all "unions" between men and women (or same-sex unions for that matter) a matter of contract like setting up corporations or partnerships -- which is what it practically is now but we're just too cowardly to call it what it is.

How's that for starters, Dawgs?
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

The TeaParty is a grass roots organization that is attempting to change the direction of our out of control nation.. so you might get different answers ( yet all relating to a common theme below ) depending on whom you speak with as it really doesn't have a "leader".

This is a recent Contract FROM America that has been gaining steam from a vocal teaparty individual.

The Contract from America
We, the citizens of the United States of America, call upon those seeking to represent us in public office to sign the Contract from America and by doing so commit to support each of its agenda items and advocate on behalf of individual liberty, limited government, and economic freedom.

Protect the Constitution
Reject Cap & Trade
Demand a Balanced Budget
Enact Fundamental Tax Reform
Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government
End Runaway Government Spending
Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care
Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy
Stop the Pork
Stop the Tax Hikes

I found this link that expresses these in detail:

my dad who is a old time dem. and a social conservative showed alot of wisdom with this statement a few weeks ago. " never vote for someone that is against everything and really cant state what they are for". most everyone would say they are for lower taxes and a balanced budget. most everyone wants the deficit to go away. and most everyone wants the gov. to control spending. but when the rubber meets the road what are these people going to do about cost of living going up while salaries are going down. what are they going to do to add jobs and grow the economy while helping people that have been hurt by the mistakes of the private and public sectors right now. what are they going to do about the fact that we are light years away from other countries in medical practices and insurence companies and what are they going to do about teachers losing their jobs while gpa's and test scores are becoming lower every year. when folks walk into the voting booth thats what they want to know. so hey tea party folk, give me a reason to vote for you. other than we are against spending. im against cats in the house. thats not gonna get me a congress job.

Wow.. what kool-aid are you drinking?

To say people can't make it without Govt checks.. is to deny the very history that we have here in the United States. It's extremely insulting.

To say that I didn't supply bullet points ( with an exploded detailed link ) to the core tenets of what the Tea Party is all about is like ignoring the large pink elephant in your computer monitor.

To say out health care is behind other countries is absurd on the highest order. Especially when Canadian officials to all others Elite Liberals that need specialized advanced health care come DIRECTLY to the USA!

You keep on drinking the tainted Kool-Aid. To borrow a phrase: "Whatever it takes darling to make you sleep better at night".

To Quote Samuel Adams again:

"No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign invaders." - Samuel Adams

I have to agree with MacUser. Some how I wonder if not that you've been nipping, at least koolaid. When some one need special care they have to come to the USA form every where in the world.

As far as the teachers goes this happens every year as a means to do 1. cut down sumer spending. 2. they also cut out unwanted teachers at this time. and then they use it so that they can make the public feel guilty and belt the public for extra money.
God Bless

I'm confused. When did it become the Constitutional role of the government to help employees? Employees work for business people who have risked their all to employ them. The best help the government can give employees is to back off, give the employERS space, reduce their tax and regulation burdens in ways that will leave them enough money to hire more people and pay them more.

No union has ever provided a pay check. No government should.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Tax

Postby scooter » June 11th, 2010, 3:01 am

No one on the right would object to taxes that paid for the standing army.

Can you say that about the left?

Knowing history the original "Tea Party" was not against all taxes but that the government was taxing everything and taxing everthing too much. We are there again.

I'm shocked at how blind some people are when it comes to politics.
What we need here is a good revival! lol
