I didn't. Could you explain a bit?

He made the remark about coming from a small and closed denomination. It came across as a bit of a smear....whether he intended it to or not, I don't know.

Didn't see it but I'd agree with that statement. Thank goodness we're changing that now!

I, too, thank God we are changing. Is Bro. Wilson in or out of the COGOP now?

free,

I don't disagree with the fact. I was just uncomfortable in the way that it was presented. Again, I don't think he necessarily intended it the way that it came across.

I don't know if he is still in COGOP or not but he still uses the old VOS mailing list to appeal for financial support. I got one this week.

Would you care to explain the statement...."We left him" ????? Just wondering what that meant?\.

It is my understanding

that Billy Wilson holds ordained credentials in both the Church of God AND the Church of God of Prophecy.

And yes, the COGOP was a very "closed" denomination for so many years.

Thank the LORD, this all has changed....He was only telling the truth....

I TOTALLY agree that Bro. Wilson was only telling the truth. My question was what was meant by the poster who said, "We left him".

I suppose I'm in the wrong here, but does COGOP owe anybody a job?? Really? I'm not saying Bro. Wilson should've been or not been appointed to anything, but be it him or anyone else -- does COGOP really have a duty to keep you in an appointment to the point that if you're not appointed, then COGOP has "left you"? Really?!?

And, I'm not saying anything about the manner in which someone is actually "moved out" of a job because there are any number of wrong ways of going about that and it may well be that some of that happened to him. I don't know. But, on the face of it, to say that someone was not appointed and was, thereby, left by the COGOP? That really ought to be explained a little, don't you think?

That could be said

about any number of people who were left out of General Appointments....

I don't want to embarrass anyone by naming some of the recent people who have given their entire lives to the denomination, and then were left 'Positionless' at the recent general assemblies...

Billy Wilson was the Senior Pastor at Peerless Rd when he accepted a dual position with the Church of God and the Church of God of Prophecy...

He's a fine man....God will see him through.
