TW,

I appreciate your grammar lesson. You and Shellie are top notch. I love to say axing.

Nevertheless, in hopes that you will give me a DANG answer to my question I will restate it using proper grammar.

"I'm just asking."

Russell,

I believe the COGOP financial info is published/presented at the General Assembly. Our Territory also presents their local info at our annual Territorial Convention and makes copies available to those attending.

every two years at the assembly. i would like them to post information annually, but they are very transparent.

I've been away from the denomination for quite a while...

but I do remember a FULL FINANCIAL REPORT being published in the Minutes of the Annual Assembly. I probably still have some of those Assembly minutes...

Russell - it really depends upon what you consider "financial data."

I think COGOP is as open as most organizations. General financial data is published, but -- like most groups -- you won't see an open line-by-line spreadsheet published.

Income and expenditures are show in "big picture" broad accounting categories. If you are looking for "How much does this individual make in salary and benefits?" stuff, good luck.

(And if you find THAT out, be sure to post it on Jude2 first...)

Yea, I liked that part of Pastor Gary's post.

I wasn't looking for salary's I was just wondering how COG compared with COGOP in terms of transparency. Apparently, COG does not publish its figgers.

Just axing TW!

Well, let's be real

Well, let's be real here; you and I both know that the average member of COGOP in smalltown USA has no clue what the salary and benefits are at the executive level, and some of them would choke on their communion juice if they saw the figures!

Mind you, I am not arguing for UNDERpaying anyone at any level, I am just pointing out the obvious elephant in the room - I suspect we might have UNDERpaid most of our leaders for most of our history.
