If it had said merely, "three days," we could maybe claim some idiomatic expression at play, making parts of days equal to one day and allowing somehow for 2 nights and a day to fulfill the requirement. But in that he said three days and three nights requires just that for the prophecy to be fulfilled.
I'm not sure, but it maybe as simple as Passover - 14th
Feast of Unleavened Bread - 15th and First Day of the week - 16th
Were you one of the guy running the numbers on the count in Farrakhan's million man march committee?

No man that wasn't me.
But I have thought of the Old Testament and the use of the "Third Day" and "Three Days"
2 Chronicles 10:
5And he said unto them, Come again unto me
after three days. And the people departed.
12So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam
on the third day, as the king bade, saying, Come again to me
on the third day.
In Luke 24:
1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
20And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this,
today is the third day since these things were done.
That first day of the week (Sunday) started at sunset, and Jesus was gone from the grave when the women viewed the grave very early in the morning.
The Sabbath was from 6pm sunset Friday to 6pm to 6pm sunset Saturday. The first day of the week from sunset 6pm Saturday to sunset 6pm Sunday
Given note that the Jews count the evening to morning and can be change by the sunsetting. Luke 24:44 Tells that about the sixth hour (noon to 3pm) darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour(3pm to sunset)
Jesus was then place in the grave onthe perparation day.
