California was a very real option for 2014 and the competition between San Jose CA and Orlando was fierce. Ultimately, Orlando won out, but I see California playing a role in a future Assembly.

Have they opened a Disney World in either of those locations? :) The amenities that Orlando has to offer is a big part of the appeal and a big reason there is such enthusiasm over this selection. Orlando is also a city that is well equipped to serve international visitors. Mexico City or Port Au Pri...

It is our belief that a Florida venue works well for Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. It is a location that has great international appeal.

Phil - DeWayne's comment is right on target. I normally do not post that much on this forum, but let me share my feelings about Assembly site selection. COGOP's Vision 2020 is a global vision that highlights our core values of prayer, the harvest, and leadership development. The test of this vision ...

I think Central and South America will disagree with you, as they are very excited about a Florida venue.

I think some do have a preference, but we will base it on the best fit and financial package. Many of the cities listed on this forum have been considered, but their prices were not good enough to make the top 3. The top 3 are San Jose CA, Orlando FL, and Columbus OH.

Pastor Gary - I am not sure where you get your information, but the location for the 2014 Assembly is not a 99% done deal. We have looked at approx 15 cities and are down to the top three based on proposals. Negotiations are ongoing with those three and two seem to be making a very strong push. This...

We streamed to 87 countries with 5,000 to 6,500 unique sites per day. We have no idea how many were viewing from each of those sites.

Someone must have misspoke. The site for 2014 will not be announced this week.

You hit the nail on the head, it simply makes good sense. We can reduce the cost of the event for the church and delegates and still have a great Assembly.
