Cheeseball Recipes?

Postby Pianoman » December 23rd, 2008, 12:26 pm

Anyone got any good (and preferably easy) cheese
ball recipes? I've got a basic recipe that's pretty good -
just looking for something different.

1 pkg - Carl Budding Beef cut up thinly (these are the
small pkgs back in the pre-packaged lunch meat)
2C - Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 - bundle of green onions (only the green part chopped up finely)
2 pkgs cream cheese
worcheshire sauce to taste

Let the cream cheese sit out and soften.
Mix all together and shape into a ball.
If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

pianoman,

I do this same ball only I leave out the shredded cheese. I might try that sometime.

If you want SUPER easy (and good) you can't beat this:

cream cheese
Italian dressing seasoning packet (Hidden Valley or any brand)

Coat cheese with Italian dressing. Done. Serve with Crackers.

Another way to make cheese ball, is to soften the cheese to room temperature, add a small amount of worchester sauce, blend, and coat the whole thing with chopped pecans and/or grated cheddar cheese, similar to what you had listed, only with out the onions and beef.

(I do like chipped beef though, that is my favorite type of cheese ball!)
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

Start with a large cube of cheese, round off the corners. When the corners are round enough you will have a cheese ball!

Found another recipe on the net that sounded good -
so I made it & my original recipe to take to work
tomorrow. We'll see which one goes over best!

Cheese Ball II
2 pkgs softened cream cheese
1 pkg dry ranch dressing mix
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1-1/2 c chopped pecans

In medum bowl, mash cream cheese. Mix dressing mix and
cheddar cheese into the cream cheese. Shape the mixture
into a ball & roll in the chopped nuts.

(This one sounded too easy - so we'll see how it turns out!).

Rahab - I've tried your recipe numerous times & like the
flavor - but I prefer the smooth spreading consistency
of a home made. (Even after they sit out - seems like
the store bought are thick & hard to spread?).

Here's one I like and make often:

1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. miracle whip salad dressing
1 pkg. ranch salad dressing mix
4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
bacon bits

Mix cream cheese and salad dressing till smooth. Add Ranch dressing mix. Stir in shredded cheese and form into a ball. Cover with bacon bits and refrigerate. Best prepared a day ahead.

Also my sister-in-law has talked about this one and gave me the recipe, but I haven't tried it yet.

1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 to 1/2 lb. Ham, finely chopped
1/2 can crushed pineapple, drained

Mix all ingredients and form into ball. Serve with crackers.

both of these, as well as yours and one other similar to yours but with ham are in our church cookbook (we're getting close to time to print)

I think that was actually more like a Bon Bon. One of the
ladies I work with made some. You've got to have a
sweet tooth - as they are rich - but they totally rock!

You mix crushed oreos with cream cheese - then roll
into small balls & dip in chocolate. We're talking diabetic
coma time!
