Seafood Chowder

Postby Becks » October 13th, 2008, 11:03 am

This is a favorite of my family.

SEAFOOD CHOWDER
4 large potatoes peeled and diced
1 lobster tail
1 can crab
¼ pound shrimp
¼ pound bay scallops
1 can sliced water chestnuts
½ gallon half and half
Cornstarch to thicken
Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.

Boil potatoes until ALMOST done. Drain most of the water from the potatoes. Chop seafood into small bite size pieces.
Add half and half and bring up until it starts to boil. Reduce heat. Add seafood and water chestnuts. Cook until seafood and potatoes are done. Make a slurry of cornstarch and water and thicken until desired thickness is reached.
Serve in small bowls with crusty bread.
