Anyone get to see the opening ceremonies? I thought it was pretty good. Not near the quality of the Beijing ceremony, but good non-the-less. What I found a bit disturbing was NBC showing the Georgian luger's fatal accident. I figured they'd show still shots, but no. They showed the accident, him flying over the wall and hitting the metal frame. Then, they cut a way and show the EMT's that worked on him with their hands covered in blood.... (with no gloves on even).
Looking forward to some great events.
I happened to help a friend move today. I was up about 15 minutes from the B.C border. Pretty neat to see all the signs up referencing The Games. Not so neat at all the Troopers on the super slab gunning people to give them speeding tickets. Thankfully, the cars in front of me slowed down so I had to as well.
