Update Tuesday 1/27/15 AM:
Everything is about the same. Chest tube is still in and chest X-ray is still showing air pockets have shrunk and the lung is no longer collapsing. Oxygen and pain meds/withdrawal meds are the same! They are assuming her allergic reaction was to the morphine, so no more of that. The speech therapist and a massage therapist (yes she's getting massages, which the little Diva loves) coming two times a day. She's showing some improvements with the sucking and the massages are helping with her fussiness and pain control.

Update Wednesday 1/28/15: Little miss Lola has spiked another fever. Running new cultures for another infection. They are leaving the chest tube in for another couple days to be completely cautious about any air leak because there is still a visible hole in her lung. She has also broken out in a rash around the back of her head. They believe that may just be from heat from the sweats she is having from the withdrawals.

Update.. Lola Bean is doing better. She has had the chest tube out since Sat. 01/31/15 and all x-rays have shown nothing but improvement in lower left lung. She is weaning off of the methadone and oxygen and hope to be off of it by the end of the week. We still have some damage in lower left lung. We got her to start sucking on her hand and a pacifier this weekend, so they are going to try a bottle by the end of the week. So we are just waiting on the lung to heal.. Please continue to pray.

Update! Update! It looks like Miss Lola is doing well enough to come home this weekend! She will still have a feeding tube, which we are training on tomorrow how to change and use. She will also have daily visits from a nurse at home to check on her progress. We will follow up monthly to determine any future surgeries, that will/may be necessary. Praise God!!

Update Friday 2/6/2015, (Day 37): Lola has had a set back. We were packing to go home and Miss Lola's dr said she can't leave just yet. She hasn't been keeping her food down and hasn't gained any weight in 3 days. They won't let babies go home without the proper amount of intake on food. For her age and length she should be eating 3-3.5 oz. Lola is only stomaching about 2 oz. Keep praying for our baby girl! The earliest they are now saying she can leave would be Monday.

Lola and her mommy.

She came home, yesterday.

Here is the last update
Lola's first day home wasn't the best. Over 6 hours spent tracking down her prescriptions and she pulled/vomited her feeding tube out twice! It's not the most awesome time for mommy and Ya-Ya to put that back in (it hurts us just as much as it does her ). Papa lost (then found) his cell phone during the great search of meds and now Mommy Audrey is at the hospital with her own (non contagious) illness!
Some have ask when/if she will need further surgical interventions. We will know by March 7th after her follow up CAT scan and surgical consult and will keep everyone posted!

Lola visited her cardiologist today and got a good improving report. She doesn't have to return for 6 months!
Not so good news, she hasn't gained any weight and she has an ear infection! The doctor had to give her stronger than normal antibiotics because she has been on such heavy duty ones in her recent hospital stay.
