Prayer request

My mother in law is dying.

She is 86, has Alzheimer's and has been in the nursing home for 2 1/2 years. My wife is the social worker there.

She contracted pneumonia three weeks ago. No treatment worked and the family decided not to insert drainage, not to have her on a ventilator.

She has been on hospice for a week. Her kidneys have now failed. She is laboring to breathe. She is on comfort measures.

My MIL was a faithful pastors wife. She is the person whose influence worked to bring me to Christ. Her family needs prayer. They all want her suffering to end and for her to go home with the Lord she loves so much.

She has 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

I appreciate it.

My mother in law, Audrey Hamilton, passed to glory tonight at 6:30. She was 86.

She was the widow of James M. Hamilton, who dies in 1988. Together they pastored 5 Church of God of Prophecy congregations in Alabama, including three that they planted.

She was my primary, first and lasting example of Christ. My wife, Lesley, was her youngest child of 5. And, in her own walk as we grow older is more and more to me like her mom's.

Funeral arrangements will appear in the Decatur Daily.
