I know what I've used in the past at a previous church, but what's out there now and anyone have a good suggestion?

Ever since leaving my job at a webhost a couple of years ago, I've pretty much been using Dreamhost. (As a matter of fact, that's who I am using to host Jude 2.) So far no real complaints about them, very few outages over the years. Pretty much unlimited everything, too.

Previously, I had used Bluehost. They were okay, and were your standard cPanel-based host. My problem with them started when they wanted to limit your account to 50,000 files. This may seem like a lot, but keep in mind that a board such as Jude 2 (which used to run there) in itself can have a lot of files. Every avatar any of you have ever uploaded counted as one file against my 50,000 limit. Not to mention the other sites I had on the account. Photo albums eat up files too. Plus, each and every E-Mail message counted as a file. Needless to say, once they implemented that rule, I jumped ship.

Dreamhost has their own custom control panel, which is much more flexible, and in some ways you feel like you have a VPS.

I don't think either of these hosts have template-based stuff though, so if you aren't going to design your own site/use WordPress/use Joomla, etc. then they may not be what you're looking for.

We have a Facebook page (Shelton's Jiffy Mart), but we just mainly post menus and such. Very little else. Would be nice to have a website to go along with it.

Thanks Bill, Actually I am registered as a reseller.. I resale the webhosting and bill directly to my customer.. he he.

but I also get a commission.. when you register it will ask where you heard about bizland www.ebroach.net is the answer....
