COGOP Cult?

I was searching for a local church in Google today with Instant Search turned on. The second entry is "Church of God of Prophecy cult". I thought it was very interesting and should be alarming for the current leadership of the church. Do you guys think anything could be done to change that?

Don't know the link, so don't know what they said or the context, but a dictionary definition of cult can apply to all churches.

Anyone worth their salt and doing an internet search would at least get to wikipedia and that has a fair review.

People have said this about us in years past. Before the internet. Some things you just have to ignore.

A few first links lead to a forum of older post from about 3-4 years ago. From scanning some of the post, some of the posters have been hurt by some of the older practices and teaching of COGOP.

Many point to the teaching of being the exclusive Bride of Christ and use of Advice to Members as a do's and don'ts to "control" the members to be "cult-like".

Many of the posters seem to be unaware or not interested to know that the COGOP has changed a lot in the past 20-25 years.

interesting. I don't use Google much anymore, and when I Bing'ed it (COGOP), there was nothing on the whole first page that was "negative" that I saw at all.
