Joy Comes In The Morning

Postby dbserv » March 16th, 2010, 11:13 am

I would like to find the lyrics for the song Joy Comes In The Morning as sung by Jill Kendrick back in the 70's.

I found a Gaither version, but the words don't seem to be the same.

I do have Jill's album and may have to go find a turntable if this doesn't work. LOL

Can any of you help me out?

Thanks.
God Bless You

I only know the Edwin Hawkins Singers version from that era...

Thanks Gary.

That's similar also, but not quite what I remember.

I don't know who produced her album @ ___________ (COGOP's studio), but maybe they are on here and can help me out. Why am I drawing a complete blank here. I have a bunch of albums from that studio and am drawing a blank.

Getting old and having the brain dendrites get blocked or weak is the pits!!!

I do remember that Bethel was the book club, though. Since I read more than I listened to music, I guess that's a good thing!

I thought the church's record club was the Broadcast Record Club. Brother Duncan was the producer or maybe Dan Howell. I believe Bro. Duncan is still in Cleveland.

That was it!

Then later it became Majestic Studios.

Thanks, Rascal.

Both of those brothers were producers @ various times - maybe even @ the same time for a while. I don't recall.

I'm not sure if they produced Jill's album or if she brought in someone else for that. ???

This is bugging me. I am going to have to dig my albums out of the closet or I'll never let it go. LOL

Dan Howell engineered that album. Don't remember exactly what the credits say but Bill Huffman (of Mark V Studios, Greenville SC) actually produced. Lari Goss played piano. I arranged for Jill and sat in on the sessions. She recorded one of my songs ("Now").

I am in touch with Jill through email. I will ask her about the song.

Thanks SS.

Do you know where I can find the actual lyrics or what the name of the song & the writer(s) is.

Thanks again!
God Bless You

Now that some of us are getting older....... I hear interest in some of the Broadcast Record Club's productions. Does anyone know if these albums are still available through the church? Some of us still like this music and are not too fond of reading songs we don't know off the wall. Can I get a AMEN?

You know, if you LEARN the new songs, they will no longer be "songs we don't know," and projecting lyrics is great stewardship instead of purchasing (and replacing) Hymnals/song books.

Sorry Brother, but I don't desire to LEARN the new songs that don't rhyme or have any musical style. I have noticed at our church, that does do contemporary songs on the wall, the congregation does have difficulity singing as a congregation. The praise team is pretty much singing the songs. The church is about 2,000 strong on Sunday mornings. It is a Bapticostal church, the largest in the area. When we do sing more traditional songs, the whole congregation participates and the response is much more a spriitual experience. Of course, we are in the heart of Dixie and I know that makes a difference. That is why Bill Gaither has sold over $250 million worth of DVD's. You can't tell me people don't like this music any more. We have one soloist that sings (that old Gaither music) and when he does, he frequently gets a standing ovation. I think people are starving for this music and that includes young people too.
