Do any of you Nashville people know of River of Life Church. The pastor is Johnny Minick. Is it a good church? Would you recommend it to friends?

Thanks for the information.

Do you know where in the Nashville area it is located? I know of one but it would not be a good thing for anyone to be involved in. It is basically a pentecostal cult.

Martha,
If it's the River of Life in Smyrna it's an AOG church. It would be quite similar to most COGOP churches. hope that helps.

The following link includes an interesting biographical sketch of the pastor. I thought the name sounded familiar. Johnny Minick has sang with several southern gospel groups in the past.

I thank y'all for the information. A family member visited this church Sunday and ask me if I was familiar with it. He said he really enjoyed the music and the message. I just wanted to be sure he wasn't getting into something weird.

Hey Martha! It seems to be a very strong and sound doctrinal Assembly of God. I know several former COGOP members that attend there. Dennis & Vicki Cannon attend there and are very involved and love it. Bro. Denny teaches one of the adult Sunday School classes. Bro. Minnick is great! He seems very personal and involved with his congregation. I have visited there before and really enjoyed it.
