I think I would have to appropriate the scripture " The wealth of the wicked are laid up for the righteous " here! Proverbs 13:22
"I imagine God is weary of being called down on both sides of an argument" Cold Mountain

"I'm also against the lottery, but that money would have been great help in advancing the Kingdom of God. It would have been nice if that pastor would have ask the brother to put the money in mission outreaches.

Another perspective on the subject

Postby jdavis » August 14th, 2008, 6:06 pm

In December 2002 the Salvation Army returned a $100,000 check from a lotto winner.......http://articles.latimes.com/2003/jan/04/local/me-religbriefs4.5

One year later, Ray Crocs widow(founder of Mc Donalds) leaves the Salvation Army $1.5 Billion

Coincidence?
I applaud the pastor and church for taking a costly stand against gambling. I pray that God will reward them for standing by their convictions. I don't know if I would have been able to resist it.
