Mother's paternal grandmother was Cherokee.
Mother's paternal great-grandfather lived on Oklahoma reservation.

One of my paternal great (x5) grandfathers (Kaiser) was born in Palatinate, Germany in 1710. Family migrated to America in 19th c., through N.C. and Georgia and eventually to Alabama and a daughter married a Shelton.

Don't know much about the genealogy beyond that.

My great-great grandfather was a Confederate soldier and was wounded in the Battle of Seven Pines, VA.

I have some Native American from my paternal grandmother's side but the rest is all English(White,Browning,Fortner)

I wish I knew.

I only know of a little here and there. Some Chickasaw a few generations back on my mom's side I heard, but no one knows for sure. Apparently the one person who would have known for sure was humiliated to say.

I also heard a story that someone traces our family back to a first cousin of George Washington.

Don't know anything about half of my dad's biological side of the family and probably never will.

The only thing I know for sure is that the most recent generations come out of Kentucky (mom's side) and near-Kentucky (dad's side)..... so the truest thing I say is that I was raised by a pack of wild hillbillies.

Having lived in both areas, I gotta say that East is better, except for the STUPID EASTERN TIMEZONE! In that regard, central is best! And to think, I lived in the shelter of this girls home at one time a LOOOOONG time ago! Go VOLS! (You are just mad because you get BEAT all the time!) ;=)
