Economics being what they are, I am giving my wife a homemade card and we are going out for a nice dinner for just the two of us on a gift card someone gave me for Christmas (whenever I can get someone to agree and watch my son AND both my wife and son are over this bout of respirtory infection they some how came down with at the same time  )

Double-whammy

My wife's birthday is Valentine's Day. Ouch...

It's second only to Christmas at our house. ha ha

My Hospitality Team has a Dinner/Celebration planned Friday Night with a meal, room all decorated up nice, and some songs and hula. Since we're tied up on her birthday, I plan to 'kidnap' her Sunday after morning service and take her off to Waikiki where I have an ocean-view room reserved at the Marriott Wiakiki Beach for the night. I'll take her to Ruth's Chris for dinner and we'll have a nice night in Waikiki, waking up to a beautiful view of Waikiki Beach and the ocean. It's about 75 - 80 degrees this month, so it should be nice.

Then there are the birthday/valentine gifts...

(Man, I am glad she doesn't read message boards!)
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Our valentine gifts.......

Postby preacherswife73 » February 13th, 2003, 12:41 pm

were fairly simple. I wanted new wedding rings since my engagement ring had broken a few years ago. I'm looking at the new ones now. And my hubby has been losing weight (60 pounds so far!!!) so I bought him some new clothes. He was very happy with them!!!!!!
Love and prayers........

Doing something different

Postby Paully_44 » February 13th, 2003, 12:51 pm

Normally, my wife and I drop the kids off at the grandparents and we go out to a quiet dinner.

This year, we are doing something different. We are having a family valentines party. My wife, my 2 sons and me. My 6 year old is crazy with the idea and has been making valentines for days.

We'll have nice fondue dinner, games and a movie.

I also bought my wife a gift certificate at the day spa to use at her leisure.
Let the wild rumpus start!

This is what my wife and I are doing as well, albeit the day after Valentine's Day.

God bless

I am not much of a romantic. I told my husband all I wanted was the new set of tapes from annual pastor's conference hosted by my favorite pastor/author/theologian in Minneapolis. He is used to me by now ( a few years ago I think my gift was a new Systematic Theology that I had my eye on), and so good to me.

I voted for something short and sweet. Not because I'm not a romantic. But after these many years of marriage and going together. We know who's sweet on who in a melancholy way. :D
