Total Recall

Postby DeWayneTN » June 3rd, 2009, 3:07 am

I saw this on TV the other day and thought it was ripe for a remake. Looks like I was right:

As a fan of Phillip Dick I am glad anytime a Dick story makes it to film.

Even if it is a remake.

Dick is responsible for the orignal stories for Total Recall, Minority Report and-my personal favorite- BladeRunner.

I think the appeal of Blade Runner is lost on me. I've tried to get into it more than once.

Really!??

I thought it was some of the most brilliant scifi there is.

I've watched it repeatatively; Have the super box set with European, Directors and Original version.

The original story is an interesting read: "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" and is somewhat different than the film.

I have not read the original "total Recall" story yet but from what I told the movie changed the main character into a super-action-hero.

Yeah, I don't know what it is. I've rented it a few times. Could be I was too young to get in the hype when it came out originally. Also could be that it's more of a slow moving drama and I was into action around that age.
