Thoughts on Aging

Yesterday my granddaughters came for a visit. Three years old Quinten was siting in a little rocking chair with her feet propped up on a little stool. Suddenly she turns to me and says “I’m an old woman.” Then she says to me “Granny, you’re and old woman too.” Of course we all laughed. Then I said t...

I love P&W music and I love the hymns. A little of southern gospel goes a long way with me. I agree that P&W songs can carry you into intimate worship of God. However, I too, think the music has become so intricate that most musically untrained people have difficulty singing the songs. I hav...

I like Jinjer's plan to answer with "declined." Dolfan, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the only question required by law to be answered is the number of people living in my house. Therefore, that's the only question I will answer on the form and if anyone comes to my home that's the...

I've been sitting here this morning remembering her. She was a quiet lady who seemed to be surrounded by a peaceful spirit. I never heard her raise her voice. Just before my Mom died she told me that if I ever had a problem that there were a few people that she trusted completely. One of those peopl...

My experience today

I was at the car wash this afternoon. After having read this post this morning, I decided to pay attention and see what people would do. I am a white haired senior woman. There were 6 chairs and all were taken when I arrived. There was one older woman, one middle aged woman, a young woman and 3 men ...

Thanks to all of you for your input. It looks like Kona coffee is the winner. I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

Good Morning all you wonderful people! I'd like to ask you about your coffee. Brand preference, whole bean or ground, your favorite additive and any other information you'd like to share. Also, if you grind your own coffee, do you have a preference of grinder brands? Thank you in advance for your in...

HogWild, thank you so much for the laughter you've brought to my tired mind! This has been a very difficult day here in Huntsville. A 14 year old child who was killed in school last week was buried today. Then about 4 PM there was a shooting at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. A professor shot ...

Pastor Gary wrote:Thai Garden still intact?

I drove through Five Points today and yes Pastor Gary, Thai Garden is OK. There's still trees down everywhere and houses torn up. It's amazing that no one was killed.

Tornado in Huntsville

Yesterday evening a tornado touched down in the Five Points area of Huntsville. This is a historical area of Huntsville and many of the very old trees were uprooted and tossed on top of cars, and houses. Power lines down everywhere. Amazingly no deaths or major injuries reported. My son was driving ...

I saw one news report where he posed nude for a popular female magazine. If it had been a woman posing nude she would have never been elected to anything. I guess we still have the good old boy network in place. I agree with Mike. I don't think we know enough about this man yet. Edited: OK, I just d...

Thanks TW. This made me smile this morning. My little cat died last month after 12 years of companionship. The cat in the picture looks a lot like my Missy. It brought back a lot of good memories. She was my friend.
