Apparently there's also an issue with the server getting rebooted and the sessions database table getting marked as crashed, which breaks the site. Going to check into this, but for now, I have a scheduled job every 30 minutes to fix any broken database stuff. If people start using this thing, we'll...
Hope yours was happy as well. Now it's time for Christmas, of course! And I still haven't started wrapping presents. I hate wrapping. If one goes to Hell for hating, I'm going proudly. Because I hate wrapping presents!!! (Did I mention that???) But I'll probably go do that as soon as I finish the co...
I just wanted to take a moment to publicly say thanks for all your hard work on the upgrade. I didn't think it would go over as quickly and easily as it did. This is impressive.
Not to bump an old thread, but I just saw this... If you want to be a bit covert about it, and have a fair bit of networking and computer skills, you could always set up a proxy server. An old PC with two network cards, a copy of pfSense, and a decent-sized hard drive could probably do what you want...
It's that time of year again! Time to renew our web hosting! :) For the past 8 years, I have operated Jude 2 out of my own pocket. (By "operated" I mean lurking behind the scenes, out of sight for most of you, making the gears turn that keep the site going, along with Daniel.) I don't regr...

However: If she put in a $20 and asked for $10 back, obviously she only wanted to give $10. If all she had on her person was a $20, her other op...
Ever since leaving my job at a webhost a couple of years ago, I've pretty much been using Dreamhost. (As a matter of fact, that's who I am using to host Jude 2.) So far no real complaints about them, very few outages over the years. Pretty much unlimited everything, too. Previously, I had used Blueh...
One other thing to think about... Verizon and AT&T both offer free "in-network" calling. Do most people you know have Verizon or AT&T? This can be a big factor in the decision process, too. Case in point: Most everyone I work with (including customers) has Verizon. I use THOUSANDS ...
I'm a Verizon fan myself. The only two providers I have ever had are Sprint (ick) and Verizon. Sprint gave me a lot of issues, most of which were service-related. Lots of dropped calls (especially if you were traveling outside of a major area), lots of roaming charges (until they started offering a ...
