Why do you think there is not more excitement about the Assembly now days?? Is it because most can afford to travel now and years ago people had to sacrifice to attend?? I can't say my family ever really "roughed it" but I did find it a long enduring sacrifice (slow torture was more like ...

Digital Hymnal

Anyone know a good source for an electronic version of church hymns - such as those found in the blue or brown book? We've got our CCLI license - and most of the public domain hymns - but would like to include more of the blue and brown book hymns in our song database without typing or copying &...

Just in case anyone else is looking for puppet info - they aren't too hard to make if you can find a pattern book. I had one at one time & moved and can't find it now. :-( We made a whole set of them for our church. You use the same basic pattern - but change the hair, etc. to get them to suit y...

Would love to switch to Boost - and looked at it - but they have absolutely no coverage in our area. Their coverage map shows coverage in Missouri primarily along the interstates only. Was hoping their all in one packages might spur some competition among the other carriers - but it's not looking go...

http://money.cnn.com/2010/06/02/technology/att_iphone_ipad/index.htm?postversion=2010060212 Sounds like the $ 30 per month unlimited plan is history if you aren't already on it. Nice that they are now going to be offering lower priced plans - but I would think that lower priced phones & lower p...

Russell,

I believe the COGOP financial info is published/presented at the General Assembly. Our Territory also presents their local info at our annual Territorial Convention and makes copies available to those attending.

Positive. The owner lives pretty frugally, and couldn't afford a P.O. Box (or probably the gas to go check it) and daily mail-call is the highlight of the day.

In that case - I'd take my letter in hand and visit the postmaster!

Pastor Gary - are you sure they have a mailbox at their house? I took my mailbox down several years ago and switched to a PO Box at the post office as I believed someone was going through my mail. People will sometimes pull my street address from the phone book & that mail gets returned to them ...

Also meant to mention - these have been die hard radios for us & usually if we ever had transmission or reception problems it was because the rubber antennae on one was broken. We always keep a few spares to swap out. You usually can't tell they're broken by looking at them - it's something inte...

We've use Motorola PR series where I work for the last 15 years. This isn't the exact model (I believe they stopped making it) - but it's in the same series. We've also used some Kenwoods that transmit on the same frequency. I've purchased from these folks & used them for repairs from time to ti...

Ironically - we had our local appointments yesterday as well. No business conference - just a very short segment between Sunday School & morning worship where pastor announced everyone and their positions and had them come up front for a brief corporate prayer from all.

Don't want to hijack the thread - but the subject brought to mind a question. Had a friend that told me of a church whose minister was accused (and only accused - as case was dropped) of trying entice a minor to have sex. He is no longer the pastor of said church - but it is our understanding that t...

I would have voted "Other" if there was an option. I don't think there's anything Biblical that prohibits it - but as has been the trend of the past 20+ years - I believe there should be modesty in all things. Too tight & too revealing are my beef. I also don't think there's anything g...

Might make sure the year is set correctly on your clock. Looks like that is a common message when the date is wrong.
