Jude 2 began on Wednesday, the 29th day of January, 2003 at 12:04 am.

What does the name mean? (origin)

Jude verse 2 says "Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance." That well describes three things to which we will aspire. There is, of course no 2nd Chapter of Jude, but Jude was a letter written to the church at a time when the source of danger was not outright persecution and external extinction, but heretics and distorters of the faith once delieverd unto the saints; in a broad sense we are writing "Jude 2" through our defense of truth.

A simple request of registered users

The moderator asks that all registered users on the forum edit their profiles to include everything they can, especially location and e-mail address. The e-mail address doesn't show up, but it enables a mass mail feature the moderator can use as Admin. Thanks for cooperating.

Who is the moderator?

The moderator of Jude 2 is Pastor Gary from Hawaii. He is senior pastor at Windward Worship Center.

Pastor Gary has selected a group of individuals to assist him in the task of moderating such a forum as Jude 2.

Who or what is a benevolent dictator?

Jude 2 is operated as a benevolent dictatorship by Pastor Gary.

The benevolent dictator is a more modern version of the classical "enlightened despot", being an undemocratic or authoritarian leader who exercises his or her political power for the benefit of the people rather than exclusively for his or her own self-interest or benefit, or for the benefit of only a small portion of the people.

It should be noted here that the concept of a "Benevolent Dictator" originates with Plato in "The Republic". He speculates on the ideal society, in which he divides the populace in classes. Those in the governing class are the "Philosopher Kings", who wield nearly total authority on the assumption that they are completely motivated by the best interests of the society or "polis". The term "Benevolent Dictator" is a current-day synonym for Plato's "Philosopher King".

What is the demographics of the membership? (geographic locales)

The membership of Jude 2 is primarily made up of people from throughout the USA, from as far west as the state of Hawaii to the east coast. Participation is certainly not limited to the US; other countries are welcome, too.
